Stefano Pellegatta appointed General Manager of Zeus EU

Due to ongoing strategic expansion across Europe, Zeus have announced the appointment of Stefano Pellegatta, taking up the role of European General Manager, responsible for day-to-day leadership of all Zeus business units across mainland Europe. Stefano Pellegatta holds a master’s degree in Production & Engineering Management, he carries a proven track record in Supply Chain Logistics, Procurement & General Management. Mr Pellegatta joined Sirap Group in February 2009, working his way up to Group Supply Chain Director, until taking responsibility as General Manager in 2016, for the Petruzalek business operating within the Sirap Group. Petruzalek was acquired by Zeus in February 2021. Stefano takes responsibility for over €100m of turnover across 15 Countries.

Speaking on the appointment, Zeus CEO, Keith Ockenden said, ‘Zeus has a development strategy throughout Europe, we are enjoying rapid growth within Manufacturing, Food Service, E-Commerce, Retail and the Logistics Sectors. European companies are looking to consolidate supply of their packaging requirements, leveraging greater economies of scale, and implementing wider environmentally friendly, innovative packaging solutions. Zeus now have reach across 15 countries, servicing over 30 markets within Europe. Our operational capability needs to be streamlined, product ranges and services aligned. We need to capitalise on our sales and distribution capabilities to ensure we maintain our growth strategy. In order to achieve this, it is vital we strengthen our leadership and communication.’

JOINT STATEMENT BY SIRAP GROUP AND ZEUS PACKAGING

Verolanuova, February 9th, 2021 – Sirap Group (a company fully owned by Italmobiliare S.p.A.) and Zeus Packaging (an European and international player) yesterday have signed a binding agreement in the food packaging sector.

Sirap Group is selling its assets in Austria and Central-Eastern Europe (Petruzalek Group) and Germany (Sirap GmbH). The acquisition allows Zeus Packaging to enter new markets in line with the growth path which it has consolidated over the last two decades.

Petruzalek Group entered in the Sirap Group in 2003 and today operates in 12 countries, with a turnover of around 50 million euro.

Sirap GmbH acquired in 2018 by Sirap Gema S.p.A., has achieved in 2020 a turnover of around 8.0 million euro.

The agreement follows the previous one signed in recent weeks, through which the Sirap food packaging business in Italy, Spain and Poland have become part of Faerch Group. The new Sirap group perimeter includes France and UK assets, with a consolidated turnover around 70 million euro.

Closing of the transaction – subject to usual conditions precedent – is expected to take place within the second quarter 2021.

Sirap Group is one of the most qualified producers of fresh food containers in Europe. The company was founded in Verolanuova (BS) in 1960 and is wholly owned by Italmobiliare, an Italian holding listed on the Milan stock exchange.

Zeus Packaging – founded in 1998 – is a European and international player in the packaging sector with operations in Ireland, United Kingdom, Spain, Germany, Poland, USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Following the acquisition, Zeus will have combined revenues of nearly €300m and it will make it the most geographical diverse packaging business in Europe.

Petruzalek Group is offering from its portfolio of products the highest-quality Standing Pouch packaging solutions for wine, juice, dairy, liquid eggs, cocktails, cosmetics, chemicals, and other industries and sectors.
We offer standard solutions of wine and juice Standing Pouches – both metallized and transparent in the following sizes: 0.75L, 1L, 1.5L, 2L, 3L, and 5L. Custom made sizes and products can be made upon request. Our Pouches are also suitable for hot-filling of juices of up to 85 degrees C.

Our customers can also choose a Matted and/or Lacquered printed effect on their Pouches. We can print for our customers in maximum 8 colors: CMYK + White + maximum 3 pantones including the MAT/LAC. The Pouches are printed on high-quality HD Flexographic printers.

Filling machines for Bag-in-Box and Standing Pouch bags

Petruzalek Group has in its offer high-quality and high-performing manual, semi-automatic and automatic filling machines for bag-in-box and pouch bags – both for short and standard tap/gland.
Our fillers can be specially adjusted based on product viscosity for wine, juice, milk, water, edible oil, post-mix syrups, and liquid eggs filling in bag-in-box and pouch bags. The fillers can be made for standard filling of up-to 50°C or hot-filling of up-to 85°C.
The capacity of the fillers we offer is from 500L/h to 3.000+L/h depending on the customer’s needs.

The customer can fill bags with capacity from min. 1L up-to 30L with a maximum of 1’’ inch spout.
Petruzalek Group also offers a 220L drum bag fillers upon request.
Our customers can also be supplied from us with different equipment needed to process and fill wine and juice – presses, mixers, grinders, washers, belts, pasteurizers, etc.
